Federico Fellini International Airport (RMI) is the nearest airport to Rimini, but there are currently no airlines flying direct to Rimini from the UK. A double edged sword. On the one side I'd love to be able to catch a flight directly from Rimini to London, while on the other side, I'd hate to see a flood of English tourists into this peaceful town – nothing against the English, I'm just selfish. When I landed in London on Monday, I had this message on twitter from @
This got me thinking about Rimini airport, so I looked at their Facebook page, here's the story:
Since Ryanair stopped flying from the UK (London, Bristol, Liverpool, etc.) to Rimini & San Marino Airport in 2012 it has become much more difficult, expensive and time consuming to reach that beautiful part of Italy.
Direct flights from the United Kingdom to Rimini have existed for decades as far back as 1959 when the first daily flights London - Rimini started.
We believe there is still a strong demand for these connections and we want to show it to airlines and local authorities.
Honestly, I'd love to be able to fly direct from Rimini to London, and Bucharest, and occasionally Toronto - yes, I'm pushing it!
